In recently disclosed Department of Homeland Security policies, such seizures may be carried out without suspicion of wrongdoing, the newspaper said, quoting policies issued on July 16 by two DHS agencies.
DHS officials said the policies applied to anyone entering the country, including U.S. citizens, and were needed to prevent terrorism. INCLUDING US CITIZENS. Just because you leave the country. Yes, this means if you go to Bermuda for a little vaca and you take you laptop, it can be seized and searched for any reason, or even no reason. Feeling safer yet?
In case anyone needs reminding of what the 4th Amendment to the Constitution, the Bill of RIGHTS, says:
"The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized."

Another shocking (well, I suppose it shouldn't be shocking anymore), sad and pathetic removal of yet another Constitutionally protected Right we one enjoyed in this country. Where is the outrage? Why aren't our representatives doing something about this? These types of laws and actions by a government are exactly why this country broke away from the King of England and was founded in the first place.
