Recently the CIA released a boat load of formerly Classified and unavailable documents. Of course the spin is the CIA wants to out its past behind and come clean and get rid of some old skeletons. In fact, this information is only seeing the light of day due to the Freedom of Information Act, and they did so quite begrudginly..but that's another story.

In any case, the funniest line is from current CIA Director Michael Hayden, money quote, "We will find in the press coverage of today's release reminders of some things the CIA should not have done," Hayden said in a note to agency employees. "The documents truly do provide a glimpse of a very different era and a very different agency."

Hmm, let's see, invasion of Iraq based on bogus details, kidnappings, secret jails, Abu Grab, Gitmo....oh yeah...a complete different era and a very different agency.

I guess in some respects it is, it tool more than 30 years to learn about past abuses, now we hear it nearly ecvery day in the news.
